Let's Talk About Anxiety

Anxiety is a natural response to stress, but when it becomes overwhelming or constant, it can significantly impact both the mind and body. From a nervous system perspective, anxiety triggers a “fight, flight, or freeze” response, activating the sympathetic and dorsal branches of the nervous system. This can leave us feeling on edge, restless, and disconnected from our bodies. Over time, this state of heightened arousal can lead to physical symptoms like muscle tension, headaches, digestive issues, and even trouble breathing.

Our work at Radical Regulation focuses on nervous system regulation—using talk therapy, mindful movement, breathwork, and somatic practices to gently guide the mind and body out of this state of high alert. By retraining the nervous system to return to balance, we can help alleviate the physical effects of anxiety and create a sense of inner calm. Through holistic approaches, like yoga therapy and talk therapy, we support you in navigating anxiety, not just as something to manage but as an opportunity to reconnect with yourself and find healing from within.
